We all know that including good habits in our lives will move us forward. There are so many things that I want to add to my daily/weekly routine. I want to exercise, I want to read more, to write more, wake up earlier, create a weekly menu plan and so much more.

Do I start with all of them? Do I start with just one? And if so, how will I know which habit is the right habit now? What is the best habit that will help me move forward and achieve my goals?

What is a habit?

A habit is an action that you do on a regular basis without thinking. Some action that you do on autopilot, such as brushing your teeth twice a day.

Why is it important to have good habits?

Habits take much less energy and therefore we can use that energy for other things. You can also refer to habits as “energy severs”. Also, when you add a keystone habit, which is a habit that is connected to many things in our lives, many things will change in consequence.

A little change can have a big effect!

So….where to start?

When we have a goal in mind, something we want to achieve, apart from the to-do list that will get us to that goal, there is a habit that we can adapt to our lives that will help us move forward.

Let me explain with an example:

Let’s say I want to spend more time with my kids. The why behind it is that I want to make the connection between us stronger. Then I think what habit can help reach this goal. For me, it would be closing phone and computer for 2 hours in the afternoon. The reason for this is that it would keep the distractions away and I would be more focused and present. Now, I need to think of what will help me in making this action a habit. It can be to put a reminder on my phone.

Do you see what I did there? Going down from the big goal to actions I can do. Then it doesn’t seem so big.

lessons of the past taught me that adding too many new habits at the same time will end up with nothing. it is too hard to start many new things. So to find the right habit to start today I created the habit builder workbook.

The workbook includes a set of questions that will guide you to find the right habit that you can start adding to your schedule. The workbook also includes a habit tracker that you can place in your planner or on your fridge. To make an action into a habit you have to repeat it daily for a minimum of 30 days. The tracker will help you see your progress.

To receive the workbook just put your email and name here and the workbook will be sent to your inbox.

Downloading this freebie will also add you to my email list.
